Practical importance
The practical importance of philosophy stems from the fundamental fact that thought can directly influence the action: either to induce a person to act or on the contrary, to inhibit, stop the action, and turn against it.
The goal of practical philosophy is to encourage people through thought to right, good actions and to turn away from erroneous, bad actions. More precisely, practical philosophy is a philosophy aimed at influencing people by the power of thought through the medium of words, beliefs - in the process of living communication (counseling, interview, discussion, analysis of a specific situation). A practical philosopher (like a practical psychologist, a psychoanalyst, a doctor, a priest, a lawyer) organizes a counseling-interview-confession service. Its task: consulting and interviewing on the main issues of life, development, love, creativity, health.
Philosophy is important for two main reasons:
(1) it can help improve critical thinking skills
(2) it's a good way to know certain things
The works of practical philosophy are about life, man, about the attitude to the world, addressed to all people and having a practical meaning. These works, as a rule, don't carry the character of research, but contain reasonings, separate thoughts and recommendations-advice. In the spirit of practical philosophy, wrote Confucius, many ancient philosophers, M. Montaigne, F. Bacon, A. Schopenhauer. To the works of practical philosophy, we can include the books of American Dale Carnegie, Russian Vladimir Levy or our Abay.
Each young man is deeply concerned about the problem of life success, which is one of the first personal problems. What does it depend on - success in life? The effectiveness of any person's activity depends on his abilities, knowledge, skills, willpower, health, organization, purposefulness, diligence, ability to establish contact with people, as well as from the objective conditions of life. Along with this, the effectiveness of the activity depends on the philosophical culture of man.

The father of medicine Hippocrates (460-356) said: "The doctor-philosopher is like God"; and also: "Medicine as little can do without the general truths of philosophy, the latter - without the facts delivered to it by medicine." In the first place in assessing the person Hippocrates put his moral qualities, the second - the professional. If, in addition to them, the doctor has a wider breadth and flexibility of thought, formed by philosophy, then, according to Hippocrates, he achieves the greatest perfection. The words of the great thinker can be attributed to any specialist - lawyer, manager, economist, engineer, teacher, military etc.

For each individual person, philosophy should become a criterion of truth and a guide in the solution of most of its problems. Maybe it should help him live better, understand what the meaning of human life is.
The role of philosophy in the life of any individual and a person is hard to overestimate. At the same time, on such "eternal" questions as: "Who am I?", "Why do I live?", "What will happen after death?" Gives answers to religion, however, in contrast to it, the scientific evidence is used in philosophy . The meaning of philosophy for a person can be explained literally in several theses:
  • philosophy greatly expands the outlook of a person, helps him in developing a thoughtful attitude to everything that surrounds him
  • philosophy teaches wisdom, deep penetration into the world of feelings of man and Nature
  • helps to develop culture and rational thinking
  • and most importantly, philosophy allows a person to go beyond the ordinary, expand the boundaries of thinking, make the spiritual world richer, and the mind sharper. The philosophers call for posing world-view questions and finding answers to them.
